Creating Captivating Video Content - the TKOM way
When Logaan and I decided to start That Kind Of Media, we had the same problem. Even though it is our business to create content, we still ask the same question… What content should we create?
After the frustration settled and we stopped being so overwhelmed about content marketing, we started to look at solutions that would not only be simple and easy to create, but also what doesn’t take days to complete. That’s when we came up with creating video content “the TKOM way”. This is the structure we use when thinking of content ideas so that we can create content with a breeze and have more time to work in our business. Most people that find tips and tricks like this keep the knowledge to themselves so they can capitalize on it later. We’re a little different. We believe when you help others, others will be more willing to help you. So that’s why we want to share with you our way/structure to creating content. Here are the 3 steps to easily come up with captivating content ideas in 30 mins or less.
3 Steps to Captivating Content Ideas in 30 mins or less:
Just remember P.P.CC. -
- Purpose
- Platform
- Content Categories
Purpose - this is why you are posting. You never want to create content without intention. You should be thinking what is the result I want to come from this content. This should always be the first thing you think of.
Platform - each social media platform has native content that they are pushing their users to post. For instance, 10 years ago, Instagram was focusing on pictures or “stills” posts. The algorithm would share peoples pictures around more than other posts like quotes. Now in 2023, Instagram’s native content is “Reels”. Pinterest native content is flyers. Facebook’s native content are Lives. So the key is to determine the Platform’s native content, and look to create content of that type.
Content Categories - these are foundational content ideas you can use for any business or industry you are in. The funny thing is if you have been on social media at any point, you have seen these categories. One example is “Behind The Scenes” or “BTS” videos where they show you how business is behind the camera. Another one is a “Quote Video”. That’s when a post has nothing but words on it. It can have a cool background, maybe even a video running in the background, but the main focal point is the quote. Just with those two categories alone, you can come up with many content ideas that will last you a couple of months depending on how much you post. You may be asking what are some other Content Categories. Don’t worry, TKOM has you covered. Click the link to download the "Trendy Content Topics Template" we use to come up with content ideas.
